Bamboo Park in Glengariff / Ireland is such an unique place full of exotic plants.
It was created in 1999 by Serge de Thibault and his wife, Claudine (which I had an opportunity to meet). It’s full of bamboos, tree -ferns, palms, fuchias, eucalyptus and many others. So many different species in one place! Bamboo Park is probably the most romantic place in Glengariff 🙂 Plants are also for sale if you want take some of them with yourself. The Park is easy to find – you can not miss the entrance, a huge japanese style-gate on the main road, the N71 coastal road from Bantry to Kenmare in Glengarriff.
The Park is open everyday 9 a.m. til 7 p.m. If you want to read more about Glengariff, check this post.
You can get here travelling by Bus Eireann ( route 236, f.e. from Cork Bus Station – Parnell Place to Glengariff Pharmacy stop about 21 EURO per single ticket). There is also a route with change in Bantry, which is highly recommended – Bantry is a lovely place, really worth visit!
